May 22, 2022
Dear 5K Walk Supporters,
On the 21st of May 2022, the Calabar Old Boy Association (COBA) Atlanta Chapter asked all the Chapters to join them in the annual joint 5K Run/Walk with The Queens High School, at Stone Mountain Park. On that same date I, Dr. Winston Whyte of COBA Florida Chapter asked my
wife Janet Whyte nee Givans to join me on a 5K walk around the Whispering Pines Lake in Cutler Bay, in support of our brothers in Atlanta as they strive to raise funds to address Health and Nutrition at Calabar.
This seemed appropriate as it was over 51 years ago that this Calabar Old Boy met his Queens Old Girl while they were walking to school. We thank you all for contributing to Project Success Makers which is part of the Health and Nutrition program at the school. I am humbled by your generosity which surpassed the $2500 goal. Our work to help the less fortunate is never ending, so please continue to support in whatever way you can. May God bless you always.
Dr. Winston A. Whyte, Calabar Alumni Association of Florida, Board of Directors
Retired Principal/Region Administrative Director, Miami-Dade Public Schools/Special Needs Consultant/Advocate
Co-founder, The Jamaican Association of Miami-Dade Educators
P.S. A special thanks to my son Warren who reached out to his friends and provided all the IT support for his IT- Challenged Dad, to Janet for contacting her friends, and Daniel England for taking all the video clippings made by Warren and creating this video.
